Happy Birthday Gramma Sharon!

Happy Birthday Gramma Sharon we love you! Noah and Ashy had fun making cards to take a picture with. Noah was practicing happy bu-day Gramma Sharon all evening. This picture turned out cute but it took the bribe of a cookie to get Noah to look at me. He is such a little stink. He kept goofing off, running away and being silly. As soon as I pulled out the oreo cookies he ran so fast and picked up that picture and was yelling at Ashy to hurry and sit down as if she was the hold up :)

This is a very busy birthday month for us. We have birthdays for Trappa Mike, Noah, Gramma Sharon and Papi! Also, Father's Day is coming up and we had VBS and still have 2 weeks of swim lessons and a vacation to New Braunfels. June is crazy!

Had a check up today. Baby is doing very well. I had to have the lovely glucose test this morning. Not only did this involve me fasting and getting up early :) but I also had to drink the awful orange drink of death and have 7 vials of blood drawn (they forgot to do my initial labs so we had to catch up). It made me so very sick I kept falling asleep. Needless to say I had to come home and take a nap! Everything wears me out. I still have about 2 more months to go too. I won't be outside much this summer unless it involves a pool :)

2 more night-nights till our family vacation ... yay!

Noah is 2!

This is a long one ...

Noah's 2nd birthday was on Saturday. I cannot believe my little baby boy is 2! It seems like he was just born. We had been telling him about it all week so he would be excited. He called it Noah's "bu-day". He cannot say his R's very well. It is really really cute.

We did not really do much. I was going to have a few family friends over to celebrate. But a few close family friends still ends up being like 12 children (big families). I just could not handle the cleaning, cooking, entertaining and cleaning again. So, we just had my family over for a homemade Popeye's dinner ;) and some bu-day cake. My kind of party right now. Noah thought it was great too. He loves for his Mima and Papi to come over ...

Noah really enjoyed having us sing him happy birthday. The only thing was you had to sing it with a candle. If you tried to sing without a candle he would get really upset and yell at you. So, we sung happy bu-day with a candle like 15 times that day. He looked so proud too.

On Friday night we went to Toys'R'Us to get him some presents. Of all the toys in the whole entire store he was obsessed with a bright blue bouncy ball that cost $1. He carried it around with him everywhere. When he opened his presents at his actual party the ball was about half way through. Once he opened the blue ball he left and was no longer interested in presents :) He has like 40 balls but a boy can always use one more I suppose ...

The turtle balloon he is holding is from Jace and Ashy. He loved this balloon and was very excited about taking "a cheese" with it. When I showed him his pictures afterward he would always make me go back to this one. Being his favorite, I figured it would be a suitable picture for the blog.

Here are some other cute things about Noah (there are many to choose from!):

• He says "peachy" instead of stinky. His Stinky Feet are Peachy Peet.
• He talks all the time and has a very elaborate vocabulary. Unless, you are a stranger, in which case he either turns his head or hides behind my legs.
• He likes to play with Barbies and My Little Ponies and his favorite color is now pink thanks to his big sister. However, the way he plays with Barbies and Ponies is all boy. They jump, fall on their heads, fly and eat each other :)
• He loves all kinds of cars, which he calls mung-mungs. This is for the sound they make like vroom vroom. When we drive he points out all kinds of mung-mungs. He especially likes digging ones (tractors). He is also a fan of ambulances, fire trucks, choo-choos and school buses. He has carried around a red choo-choo from Aunt Lisa with him for about a month now. It goes everywhere we go. All red trucks on the road are Papi. When he sees a red truck he says, "Papi's home"
  
• He really likes balls of any kind. All balls are called "backy-balls" for basket ball, even if it is a marble or a bead. This kid is going to be a sports player for sure.
  
• Noah loves bugs! Every single time we step out on the front porch no matter how big of a hurry we are in we have to stop and talk about the bugs. Ladybugs are Baby Bugs. Oh, and frogs are another big thing. He hops around like a frog saying "a-bigit, a-bigit".
  
• He has started saying "I don't know" in answer to questions. He runs it all together like one word. Ashlyn asked him the other day what he wanted to play and he said, "I don't know". After a bit of prodding he said he would like to play baseball. Ashlyn then says, "No, we are playing dress up". She took him in the room and after a bit of yelling and fussing he came out dressing like a fairy!
• Noah can detect a treat (candy) from anywhere in the house. He hears a wrapper and will come running. They learn quick!
• For his prayers he says, "Dear Jesus, Amen"

Noah has so many cute mannerisms and interests I could write all day. These are just the few highlights that come to mind right off. He is a very bright happy little boy and each day is like a new discovery for him. He has been a wonderful little blessing and we love him so much!

Last week we had VBS (vacation bible school). I got to be craft coordinator which was a lot of fun. Anyway, we had to wake up everyday at 7:00 AM just to be there in time. Any of you who know us well, know we DO NOT wake up at 7:00. Needless to say, it made for a long, tiring week (hence the lapse in blogging) but it was great fun to see all the kiddos learning about Jesus and worshipping together. Noah was so sad when we got to church on Sunday and it was no longer VBS. He and Ashlyn really enjoyed it.
